Grad students, frequently referred to as TAS (three letters), are post-secondary students who are enrolled in a program of study that leads to a graduate degree. They are typically pursuing a master's or doctoral degree and are often engaged in research or teaching activities. Grad students are expected to have a high level of academic achievement and are usually required to complete a thesis or dissertation in order to receive their degree.
