Gordie Howe was a legendary Canadian hockey player who played for the Detroit Red Wings from 1946 to 1971. He was nicknamed 'Mr. Hockey' and is widely regarded as one of the greatest players in the history of the sport. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1972 and his number 9 jersey was retired by the Red Wings in 1972. He was also a four-time Stanley Cup champion, six-time Art Ross Trophy winner, and six-time Hart Memorial Trophy winner.
