Amy Alcott is an American professional golfer who won five major championships and thirty-nine LPGA Tour events during her career. She was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1995 and the LPGA Hall of Fame in 1999. Alcott was born in San Francisco, California in 1956 and began playing golf at the age of nine. She turned professional in 1975 and won her first major championship, the Peter Jackson Classic, in 1979. Alcott went on to win four more major championships, including the Nabisco Dinah Shore in 1983 and 1984. She retired from competitive golf in 1994.
