Sam Snead was a professional golfer who won a record 82 PGA Tour events. He was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1974 and is widely regarded as one of the greatest players in the history of golf. He was nicknamed 'Slammin' Sammy' for his powerful drives and was known for his smooth swing. He won seven major championships, including three Masters titles. He also won the PGA Tour Lifetime Achievement Award in 1998.
