VENUS, the Roman goddess of love, beauty, sex, fertility, prosperity, and victory, was the equivalent of the Greek goddess APHRODITE. Ishtar, the Mesopotamian goddess of love, war, fertility, and sex, was also known as the 'Queen of Heaven'. Lastly, Hathor, an Egyptian goddess of love, motherhood, and joy, was also associated with music, dance, and foreign lands.
