The gliding dance step is composed of two moves, the GLISSADE and the CHASSE. The GLISSADE is a sliding step in which one foot slides along the floor while the other remains stationary. The CHASSE is a three-step movement in which the dancer steps forward with one foot, then brings the other foot to meet it, and then steps forward again with the first foot. Both of these steps are used in many different types of dances, from ballet to ballroom.
