Founded in 1888, it is the oldest and most successful football club in Scotland, having won the Scottish league championship a record 50 times. CELTIC also holds the record for the most consecutive Scottish league championships, having won nine in a row from 1966 to 1974. The club has also won the Scottish Cup a record 36 times and the Scottish League Cup a record 15 times.
