Glacial ridges are landforms created by the movement of glaciers. Oskar is a type of glacial ridge formed by the deposition of sediment in a crevasse. ESKERS are long, winding ridges of sediment left behind by a melting glacier. Aretes are sharp, jagged ridges formed when two glaciers erode away at opposite sides of a mountain. OSAR is another term for an esker. Kames are mounds of sediment deposited by a melting glacier. Eskars are similar to kames, but are formed by the melting of a stagnant glacier. Seracs are large, jagged blocks of ice found in glaciers.
