Glacial pinnacles, also known as seracs (6 letters), are large, jagged blocks of ice that form when glaciers move over uneven terrain. They are often found in crevasses and can be dangerous to climbers. Glacial pinnacles are formed when the pressure of the glacier causes the ice to break apart into large chunks. These chunks then become exposed to the elements and form the distinctive jagged shapes.
