Giving a public address, or 'ORATE, ' is the act of delivering a speech to an audience. It is often done in a formal setting, such as a graduation ceremony or political rally. Oration requires the speaker to be well-versed in the topic they are discussing and to be able to effectively communicate their ideas to the audience. The speaker must also be able to capture and maintain the attention of the audience throughout the duration of the speech.
