Okapis are a species of giraffe relative, native to the tropical rainforests of the Democratic Republic of the Congo in Central Africa. They have a distinctively marked coat, with reddish-brown fur on their upper parts and white on their lower parts. They are the only living members of the Giraffidae family that are not true giraffes. Okapis are herbivores, feeding mainly on leaves, buds, fruits, and grasses. They are also known to feed on bark, roots, and fungi.
