Marla Gibbs is an American actress, comedian, singer, writer and producer. She is best known for her role as Florence Johnston in the television sitcom 'The Jeffersons' (1975-1985). She also starred in the spin-off series 'Checking In' (1981) and '227' (1985-1990). Gibbs has also appeared in numerous films, including 'The Meteor Man' (1993), 'The Ladies Man' (2000) and 'Madea's Big Happy Family' (2011). She has won several awards, including an Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for her role in 'The Jeffersons'.
