The term German Airship is composed of two words, ZEPPELIN (8 letters) and DIRIGIBLE (9 letters). Zeppelins were rigid airships built by the German Count Ferdinand von ZEPPELIN in the early 20th century. They were powered by several engines and could carry passengers and cargo. Dirigibles are lighter-than-air aircrafts that are steered and propelled through the air by rudders and propellers. They were developed in the late 19th century and used mainly for military purposes.
