Lou Gehrig was an American professional baseball player who played for the New York Yankees from 1923 to 1939. He was nicknamed 'The Iron Horse' due to his incredible durability and longevity in the sport. Gehrig was a seven-time All-Star, won six World Series championships, and was the first MLB player to have his uniform number retired. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest players in baseball history.
