The Gastrointestinal Tract, or GI tract, is a long tube-like structure that runs from the mouth to the anus. It is made up of several parts, including the OESOPHAGUS (10 letters), PHARYNX (7 letters) and STOMACH (7 letters). The OESOPHAGUS is a muscular tube that connects the throat to the STOMACH and is responsible for carrying food and liquids from the mouth to the STOMACH. The PHARYNX is the area at the back of the throat that connects the nasal cavity to the OESOPHAGUS. The STOMACH is a muscular organ that stores and breaks down food before it is passed on to the small intestine.
