Galba, predecessor of Nero, was a Roman Emperor who reigned from 68 to 69 AD. He was the first emperor of the Year of the Four Emperors and succeeded Nero's great-uncle, Emperor Claudius. Galba was known for his military reforms and for restoring the financial stability of the empire. He was also known for his strictness and austerity, which earned him the nickname 'Old Shoe'. He was eventually overthrown by Otho, one of his own generals, and was succeeded by Vitellius.
