Fulmars' kin are two species of seabirds, the European and the Arctic ernes (5 letters) and the lesser or black erns (4 letters). Both species belong to the family of Procellariidae, which includes petrels, shearwaters, and fulmars. The ernes is a large seabird with a wingspan of up to 1.5 meters, while the erns is a smaller bird with a wingspan of up to 1 meter. Both species have a white head and neck, dark gray back, and white underparts. They feed mainly on fish, squid, and crustaceans. They breed in colonies on cliffs and islands, and their eggs are incubated by both parents.
