Daniel Boone was an American frontiersman and explorer who is best known for his exploration and settlement of what is now Kentucky. He was born in Pennsylvania in 1734 and died in Missouri in 1820. He was a militia officer during the Revolutionary War and served as a wagon master during the French and Indian War. He was also a surveyor and a politician. Boone is remembered for his pioneering role in the settlement of the American West and for his courage and determination in the face of danger.
