The French White House is the official residence of the President of France, located in Paris. It is known as the Élysee Palace, or simply the Élysee, and has been the official residence since 1848. The palace was originally built in 1718 for Louis Henri de La Tour d'Auvergne, Duke of Bouillon. It was later purchased by Napoleon Bonaparte in 1803 and became the official residence of the President of the French Republic in 1848.
