The French General in question is NAPOLEON. He was a military and political leader of France during the late 18th and early 19th centuries. He rose to prominence during the French Revolution and led several successful campaigns during the Revolutionary Wars. He eventually crowned himself Emperor of the French in 1804 and ruled until 1814, when he was exiled to Elba. He returned to power in 1815, but was ultimately defeated at the Battle of Waterloo.
