The former Disney head is Michael Eisner, who served as the Chief Executive Officer of The Walt Disney Company from 1984 to 2005. He was responsible for the company's resurgence in the late 1980s and early 1990s, and oversaw the expansion of the company's media empire. He was also responsible for the acquisition of ABC and ESPN, and the launch of the Disney Channel. He left the company in 2005 after a period of declining profits and shareholder dissatisfaction.
