The former Chevy model is the Vega, a compact car produced by General Motors from 1970 to 1977. It was available as a two-door coupe, four-door sedan, and three-door hatchback. The Vega was designed to compete with the Japanese imports of the time, and featured an aluminum engine block and a lightweight body. It was initially popular, but suffered from reliability issues that caused its popularity to decline.
