The forest antelope, also known as the BONGO, is a species of antelope found in the forests of Central and West Africa. It is the largest and most colourful of the African forest antelopes, with a reddish-brown coat and white stripes. The BONGO is an herbivore, feeding mainly on leaves, grasses, and fruits. It is a solitary animal, living in small herds of up to six individuals. The BONGO is an endangered species, threatened by habitat loss and hunting.
