The term FOOT BONE(S) refers to the bones in the human foot. The tarsal bones, which are six in number, form the posterior part of the foot and include the TALUS, calcaneus, cuboid, navicular, and medial, intermediate, and lateral cuneiforms. The TARSUS is a group of seven bones that form the midfoot and include the scaphoid, lunate, triquetrum, and pisiform, as well as the medial, intermediate, and lateral cuneiforms. The TALUS is the uppermost bone of the ankle joint and articulates with the tibia and fibula. The metatarsal bones are five long bones that form the anterior part of the foot and connect the tarsal bones to the phalanges. The TARSI are five short bones that form the posterior part of the foot and articulate with the metatarsals.
