The term FOOT BONE refers to the bones of the human foot. The tarsal bones, which are six in number, form the posterior part of the foot and include the TALUS, calcaneus, navicular, cuboid, and medial and lateral cuneiforms. The TARSUS is a group of seven bones that form the midfoot and include the TALUS, calcaneus, navicular, and the three cuneiforms. The TALUS is the uppermost bone of the ankle joint and articulates with the tibia and fibula. The metatarsal bones are five in number and form the anterior part of the foot, connecting the tarsal bones to the phalanges of the toes.
