Folksy Burl Ives was an American singer, actor, and writer. He was known for his traditional folk music, which he sang in a distinctive bass-baritone voice. He also wrote and performed many children's songs, including 'Frosty the Snowman' and 'Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer'. Ives was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1980 and received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 1995.
