Pete Seeger was an American folk singer, songwriter, and social activist who was a key figure in the mid-20th century American folk music revival. He was known for his left-wing political views and for his support of international folk music. He was also a member of the influential folk group The Weavers, and wrote many popular songs such as 'Where Have All the Flowers Gone?' and 'If I Had a Hammer'.
