Flightless birds are birds that cannot fly due to the lack of a keel bone on their wings. Examples of flightless birds include emus, which are large, flightless birds native to Australia; RATITES, a group of large, flightless birds including ostriches, rheas, and moas; penguins, which are aquatic birds found in the Southern Hemisphere; sstes, a species of flightless birds native to New Zealand; DODOS, an extinct species of flightless birds from Mauritius; KIWIS, a species of flightless birds native to New Zealand; and wekas, a species of flightless birds native to New Zealand.
