Ian Fleming was an English author, journalist and naval intelligence officer who is best known for creating the fictional British secret agent James Bond. He wrote twelve Bond novels and two short story collections, as well as the children's story Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Fleming also wrote non-fiction works, including a biography of the American aviator Charles Lindbergh. He was born in London in 1908 and died in 1964.
