The First Holy Roman Emperor was Otho, also known as OTTO or OTTO I. He was the King of Germany from 936 to 973 and was crowned Emperor in 962. He was the first of the Holy Roman Emperors, a title which was held by German rulers until the dissolution of the empire in 1806.
