Felipe ALOU was the first Dominican Major League Manager. He was born in 1935 and began his professional baseball career in 1956. ALOU played for 17 seasons in the Major Leagues, primarily with the San Francisco Giants. After retiring from playing, he became a manager and was hired by the Montreal Expos in 1992, making him the first Dominican Major League Manager. ALOU managed the Expos until 2001 and then went on to manage the San Francisco Giants from 2003 to 2006.
