Fire remnants are the remains of a fire after it has been extinguished. ASHES, EMBERS, and coals are all examples of fire remnants. ASHES are the powdery residue left behind after a fire has burned out. EMBERS are glowing pieces of coal or wood that remain after a fire has burned out. Coals are solid fuel made from partially burned wood, coal, or other combustible material. All three of these fire remnants can be found in the aftermath of a fire.
