Otto Preminger was a filmmaker who was active in Hollywood from the 1930s to the 1970s. He directed over 40 films, including classics such as Laura (1944), The Man with the Golden Arm (1955), and Anatomy of a Murder (1959). Preminger was known for his innovative use of camera angles and lighting, as well as his willingness to tackle controversial topics. He was nominated for five Academy Awards and won the Golden Globe Award for Best Director in 1965.
