Errol Morris is an American filmmaker and documentarian who has been making films since the late 1970s. He is best known for his Academy Award-winning documentary The Fog of War, which examines the life and career of former U.S. Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara. Morris has also directed several feature films, including The Thin Blue Line, A Brief History of Time, and The Unknown Known. He is a recipient of numerous awards, including the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature, the Peabody Award, and the Cannes Film Festival Grand Jury Prize.
