Tevye is a main character in the musical Fiddler on the Roof, played by a Jewish milkman living in Tsarist Russia. YENTA and Yente are two other characters in the musical, both matchmakers. LAZAR Wolf is a wealthy butcher who wants to marry Tevye's daughter Tzeitel.
