The female toon explorer is Dora, a character from the Nickelodeon animated series 'Dora the Explorer'. She is an adventurous seven-year-old Latina girl who embarks on quests in order to find something or help somebody. Along the way, she is accompanied by her talking purple backpack and her anthropomorphic monkey companion Boots. Dora is also often aided by the audience at home in solving the obstacles she encounters.
