Fellow-feeling is a term that refers to the shared emotions and UNDERSTANDING between two or more people. It can be expressed through CONSOLATION, RAPPORT, UNDERSTANDING, KINDNESS, SYMPATHY, EMPATHY, and COMPASSION. CONSOLATION is the act of providing comfort or solace in a time of distress. RAPPORT is a close and harmonious relationship in which the people or groups concerned understand each other's feelings or ideas and communicate well. UNDERSTANDING is the ability to comprehend and have insight into a situation. KINDNESS is the quality of being friendly, generous, and considerate. SYMPATHY is the feeling of COMPASSION or pity for the suffering or misfortune of another. EMPATHY is the ability to understand and share the feelings of another. COMPASSION is a deep awareness of the suffering of another coupled with the wish to relieve it.
