The FDR Group is a term used to refer to the three main initiatives of President Franklin D. Roosevelt's New Deal: the Civilian Conservation Corps (REP, 3 letters), the Rural Electrification Administration (REA, 3 letters), and the Works Progress Administration (WPA, 3 letters). The Civilian Conservation Corps was a public works program that provided jobs for young men in conservation and reforestation projects. The Rural Electrification Administration was created to bring electricity to rural areas of the United States. The Works Progress Administration was a large-scale public works program that provided jobs in construction, arts, and other areas. Together, these three initiatives helped to reduce unemployment and poverty during the Great Depression.
