The FEDERAL Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is the primary law enforcement agency of the United States government. It is responsible for investigating violations of FEDERAL laws and protecting the nation from threats both foreign and domestic. The head of the FBI is the Director, who is appointed by the President and confirmed by the Senate. The current Director is Christopher Wray, who was appointed in 2017.
