Father Orestes is the son of AGAMEMNON, a legendary Greek king who led the Greeks in the Trojan War. He is best known for his role in the Oresteia, a trilogy of plays by Aeschylus that tells the story of his revenge against his mother Clytemnestra and her lover Aegisthus for the murder of his father. AGAMEMNON was the leader of the Greek forces during the Trojan War and was killed by his wife upon his return home. Orestes then avenged his father's death by killing his mother and her lover.
