Fashion's Cassini is a reference to Oleg Cassini, a French-born American fashion designer who was best known for his work with Jacqueline Kennedy during her time as First Lady. He was also the first designer to launch a ready-to-wear line in the United States. Cassini was born in Paris in 1913 and moved to the United States in 1936. He worked for Paramount Pictures before launching his own fashion line in 1942. He designed for many celebrities throughout his career, including Marilyn Monroe, Ava Gardner, and Grace Kelly. His designs were featured in magazines such as Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, and Life. He passed away in 2006 at the age of 92.
