Faked out, in hockey, is a term used to describe when a player dekes or fakes out an opposing player. Deke, which has five letters, is a move in which a player moves the puck in one direction and then quickly changes direction, often leaving the opposing player off balance. This move is often used to create space between the player and the defender, allowing the player to get a better shot on goal.
