Patti LuPone is an American actress and singer who is best known for her Tony Award-winning performance as Eva Perón in the musical Evita. She originated the role in the Broadway production in 1979, and reprised it in the 1996 film adaptation. LuPone has also had a successful career in television, film, and concert performances. She has won two Grammy Awards and been nominated for two Tony Awards.
