Everett Sloane was an American actor best known for his role as Jedediah Leland in the 1941 film Citizen Kane. He was born in New York City in 1909 and had a long career in theater, radio, and film. He won a Tony Award for his performance in the Broadway production of The Country Girl in 1950. He also appeared in films such as The Lady from Shanghai and The Man in the Gray Flannel Suit. Sloane died in 1965 at the age of 56.
