The European Wild Ox, also known as an AUROCHS (7 letters), is an extinct species of large wild cattle that once inhabited Europe, Asia, and North Africa. It is believed to be the ancestor of domestic cattle. The BISON (5 letters), another species of wild ox, is still found in Europe and North America. Both the AUROCHS and the BISON are members of the Bovidae family, which includes antelopes, goats, sheep, and other bovids.
