The European Warbler, also known as the BLACKCAP (8 letters), is a species of Old World warbler found in Europe and parts of Asia. It is a small passerine bird with a black cap on its head, greyish-brown upperparts, and whitish underparts. The male has a greyer head than the female. It feeds mainly on insects and spiders, but will also take berries and other fruits. It breeds in open woodland and scrub, and is a common garden visitor.
