The Ural Mountains, also known as the Ural Range or the Urals, is a mountain range that runs from north to south through western Russia and is considered the traditional dividing line between Europe and Asia. The Ural Mountains stretch approximately 2, 500 miles from the Arctic Ocean in the north to the border of Kazakhstan in the south. The Ural Mountains are part of the larger Eurasian Range, which includes the Caucasus Mountains, the Altai Mountains, and the Tian Shan Mountains.
