Eriq LaSalle is an American actor, director, and producer. He is best known for his role as Dr. Peter Benton on the NBC medical drama ER. LaSalle has also appeared in films such as Coming to America, The Best Man, and The Human Stain. He has directed and produced several films and television series, including Soul Food and The Parkers. LaSalle has won numerous awards for his work, including a Golden Globe Award and two NAACP Image Awards.
