William BLAKE was an English Romantic poet, painter, and printmaker. He is considered one of the most influential figures of the Romantic Age. He wrote a collection of poems, Songs of Innocence and of Experience, which explored the themes of innocence, experience, and the human condition. He also wrote several prophetic books, including The Marriage of Heaven and Hell and Jerusalem. His work has been widely celebrated and his influence can be seen in many modern works of art.
