Edith Sitwell was an English poet, novelist, and critic who was born in 1887 and died in 1964. She was a member of the famous Sitwell family, which included her brother Osbert and her sister Sacheverell. She is best known for her modernist poetry, which often featured surreal imagery and a unique use of language. Her works include Façade, The Sleeping Beauty, and The Outcasts. She was also a prolific writer of prose, including her autobiography Left Hand, Right Hand! and her novel The Scarlet Tree.
